Pacific Paradise or NOT?

This is my book review. I am  learning to summarize in my own words and form an opinion.                        Pacific Paradise By Mary Campbell  

What I have read is Pacific Paradise. This book is mostly about eels in New Zealand. the life cycle about eels and how they lay their eggs.   

First of all, This is the life cycle of an eel, im sure you want to know this. First they start off as eggs, as they grow a bit older they turn into larvae. then they would turn into glass eel. After that they would grow older and turn into elver. after all of that they finally turn into adults and reach full maturity. Here is a picture to demonstrate the life cycle of eels.

For the last part of this is them as adults about to lay their eggs.

So, how do they lay their eggs? Well it takes awhile, but they have to make their way upstream to make it to the ocean. Well when they finally make it it is time to lay their eggs. Once they have laid all their eggs they are so so exhausted, they die. Then off their eggs go to make it back to the creek to start their new lives.

I found this article very interesting and helpful. I enjoyed learning about the life cycle of an eel and knowing how they lay their eggs.

Fun With Mum

This is my recount. I don't what I was learning. My next step is to Write a variety of sentences types (some short, some starting with ‘talking’, some starting with an adverb.

   On a Marvelous Friday afternoon Me and my mum and Kim went to Westfield mall in Riccarton.

   Firstly what we did what was obvious,  we went into the car and took off. My mum yelled out to me, “come on Ricci it's time to Go”  and I replied nicely “ok im coming, be there in a Sec” So the went into the car and put our seatbelts on and took of to Westfield Mall in Riccarton.

                     

Twenty  or so minutes later we were there, we went all the way to the top of the parking lot to find a carpark. I took ages to look for a empty carpark. I was waiting for years to find a carpark. But then…. WE FINALLY FOUND A PARKING SPOT! I shouted out loudly  “yay we found a parking spot.  By the time we found an empty car park I was like an old man.

  So then we hopped out of the car like rabbits and made our way to Kmart and Timezone.

After that we finally made it to kmart to buy some toys for me.  We were walking in Kmart then finally found the toys aisle.   The cool toys that I found was star wars spaceships The spaceships that I got was Tie  fighter, Stormtrooper transport and the ghost from the program Star Wars Rebels. The other toy I got was a big fighter jet including a guy to fly the fighter jet.

   My mum asked me “is that all you want”? I replied “Yep”so then me and my mum went to go to the counter and paid for my toys then skipped out of Kmart to go to Timezone.  

     After all off that We finally went to the final place of the day which was Timezone to play some games. Then I saw ghostbusters pinball but it was the plain version. That was the only game I played. So I jammed that game for a an hour or so until the money on the timezone was out. An hour later the card was out of money witch meant we had to go return it to the counter and then go back home. I said “oh man there is no more money left on it. So then it was a long walk back to the parking lot at the 20 minute drive back home

   My thoughts of that day was the I had a marvelous time shopping at Kmart and playing

I Believe That the Flash is the best superhero. Do you agree? Why I believe the Flash is the best superhero because he can travel to places super fast, he can also take down bad people plus he can dodge things fast also he is tremendously fast.

The first main reason why I think the Flash is the best super is that he can go to anywhere in a blink of an eye.  How can he do that? Ah dah he’s the flash and the flash is super fast he can even go faster  than  fastest car which is the Bugatti Chiron which goes 288 mph/ 464 km per hour. Also he can get out of danger fast. He can even see bullets going past him. How cool would that be to see bullets as they're going past you?

My second reason why I think the Flash is the best superhero is because he can help people super super  fast. For example say if I were drowning in Australia would he save? Of course he would save me.  Added to this,  he can put out fires when he goes really fast.  Would you want to get saved from the Flash? He can come to you in an instant and get you out of trouble if you are in danger like if you were getting beat up or getting robbed or something else. Also would it be cool that  the Flash fastest superhero? And the flash can go as fast as lightning can strike you. How cool is that?

In Summary I think that the Flash is the best superhero because he can go as fast as lightning and he can go to other places in an instant. As I’ve said at the beginning I believe that he is the best superhero.

The book that i’ve been reading is Bok Choy. This is set in Otago in the South Island in NZ 1865 on the gold mines. This is a nonfiction story but based on actual events is about Jacob that is young boy and also there is chinese man who is Ah Sum, he is a poor chinese man that is working in mine called New Gold Mountain.

After Jacob gets rescued his mother comes to get him. Then there is Mrs Bishop and her son Williams. Mrs Bishop and her son Williams is racist to that a chinese man Ah Sum.

My favourite part in this story is when Jacob gets rescued by Ah Sum. Something that surprised me was when Mrs Bishop and her son was being racist to that Chinese man.
