                          Plastic bags are harmful for the environment.

I strongly believe that plastic bags are harmful for the environment. Do you agree?  

My first reason is that plastic bags are dangerous to animals. Say if there were heaps of plastic bags around animals and they ate it they will choke and die. Won’t that be tragic? added to this, plastic bags are non biodegradable which means that it cannot rot down like other things can rot down. So it’s bad for the animal life. Would that be devastating to people if animals die from plastic bags?  No you would you be heartbroken.

My second reason is that plastic bags are made out of petroleum. Petroleum comes out of the ground. People use big drills to drill it out of the ground. Let’s not get off topic. So, petroleum is the same as petrol, it's dangerous if swallowed and toxic to aquatic life. Would you want all aquatic life to die? No because it would be tragic if aquatic life die from plastic bags?  

My third reason why is that it’s pretty much everywhere. Say if there were dozens of plastic bags in your house get rid of it, it harms the environment. Added to this we will be plastic bag free so that it can’t harm the environment. Do you want plastic bags around you and everywhere? No that would be disgusting.  

In summary  I think that plastic bags are harmful for the environment is that it’s dangerous for animal life, it’s non biodegradable and it’s made out of petroleum which is harmful to people and to aquatic life.   

People should not dump their waste into the landfill

My next learning step is to speed up my work because I only had one paragraph and the rest of the group finished their draft and had a lesson on linking phrases between paragraphs to support the development of the text. so I missed out on the learning.

 Waste, waste, waste, it's all just waste and rubbish. Just throw it in the landfill. Do you agree or disagree that people should not dump their rubbish in the landfill? Well, I agree that people should not dump their rubbish into the landfill. I will try my best to persuade you and explain why people should not dump their rubbish into the landfill.

My first reason why I think that people should not dump their rubbish into the landfill is that it’s causing pollution to the environment which is not good for our environment. It might also be hazardous.           

My second reason is that all the hazardous stuff in the landfill like batteries and computers affects the environment and people. Plus about two thirds of landfilled waste is biodegradable. Added to this leachate is toxic liquid that leaks from landfills and gets into the water system. Also if it gets into the water system people will drink it and get poisoned and die. How disastrous will that be?

My third reason why people should not dump their rubbish into the landfill is that all the biodegradable things in there rots and decomposes  producing harmful gases like carbon dioxide and methane. Adding to global warming.

In summary I think that people should not dump their rubbish into the landfill because it’s just harming the environment.

I think our movie was creative because we dressed up and used imovie. This movie is about us teaching what Our hoe Tikanga (Our school hoe values) My next steps are to know how to edit movies using Imovie. Enjoy



What I thought about the movie was that it was funny and I think it might teach what tikanga is.

Freaky visit at Grandmas

Freaky Visit at Grandmas

One day I went to Grandma’s house. I walked Inside and I politely said to Grandma, “Hello Grandma how have you been?” She replied, “Good good” ahhhhh I yawned out loud. It's pretty late so I better go to bed. Good night I tiredly say to Grandma.

The next day I look out my window and see  some of the headstones in the graveyard had moved. I dashed to grandma and said, “Grandma Grandma the headstones in the graveyard had moved”

Grandma replied, “Ahh you must be dreamin” I replied back, “No” Next thing i see is a ghost floating in the hallway. I asked the ghost, “Why are you here”

but no reply. Then Grandma loudly said, “What do you mean I live here” “Ahh” I groaned. She thinks I must be talking to her. All of a sudden the ghost shoots upstairs.

I had 2 choices. Choice 1 I run out of the house and go straight home.

Choice 2 I can go investigate where the ghost went upstairs. Then I decided to go upstairs and investigated where the ghost went. So when I got  upstairs to investigate where the ghost went the ghost dashed again and went into my room. the moment I take a step into my room the ghost slammed the door. I backuped, stumbling, fallen onto my bed. Then the ghost gazed around the room, “Yes yes” the ghost said, “This will do perfectly”, “Wh-what do you mean” I mumbled.  The ghost floated towards the bed, “I can sleep here for plenty of years” The ghost said. I asked the ghost, “Why are you going to sleep on my bed for years and Years”, “Because I need a good Sleep” the ghost replied, “So go away” the ghost loudly said. So I listened to the ghost

and I slowly walked out of my room. Next thing I see when I get out of the room is a ghost horse.

I asked myself, Is  that a ghost Horse? Then I decided to mount the horse.

I slowly approached the ghost horse. When I got to the horse I quickly mounted the horse. Then, the horse shooted down the hallway, “Ahhhhhh help” I shouted out loudly, “Oh no the horse is going to go through a wall”, “If the horse can go through the wall what about“Me? CRASH, BANG, I hit the wall hard.“Oww” I said in pain. I am taking all my stuff and I’m getting out of here. I got all my stuff and ran out of the house and said goodbye to Grandma. She replied “Bye”. But I was already out the door. I say “I’m never coming back here again!” I furiously said.

Today I learnt how to create a survey using google forms. Please fill it in so I can make a graph
